Spurs bench dominates to hand Grizzlies 14th-straight loss

San Antonio Spurs power forward LaMarcus Aldridge will not play Saturday versus the Los Angeles Lakers.

San Antonio moved up a spot to fifth place ahead of Minnesota with the victory. Nance added 22 points and 15 rebounds. A win is needed to turn things around, but it won't come easy against a Lakers side who are playing their best basketball of the season.

Ball is now 11-of-16 on three-pointers over the last three games, and 14-of-22 over his last four games.

At least they have a little momentum heading into that game. "We dug ourselves a little hole, which is very hard against this team, the way they execute, but I feel like we pulled it out together".

Los Angeles have won their past four games and are 12-5 going back to mid-January. Isaiah Thomas added 21 points.

San Antonio's untimely injuries and on-court struggles in a hectic Western Conference don't bode well for their odds at keeping the league's longest-standing playoff run intact. The Lakers have a 7-3 record during their last 10-game stretch and are 12-20 in away games this season.

A scoring drought by San Antonio in the third quarter allowed Memphis to capture a seven-point lead at 66-59.

Julius Randle scored 25 points, Brandon Ingram added 19, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 18 and Kyle Kuzma finished with 16 points for the Lakers as they won in Miami for the first time since February 10, 2008.

"Their guys just started making shots", San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said. If he misses out, the Spurs' offense will take a big hit.

Bertans also pulled down five rebounds, made two assists and one steal. After a jumper by Pau Gasol, Ball hit another 3 to give the Lakers a 109-107 advantage with 1:15 remaining. The Grizzlies again inbounded the ball to Gasol, who fired another off-target two-pointer at the buzzer. "He just got them back in the game and at that same period we didn't make shots".

"We need to get one, so somehow we just have to try and get a win", Parker said. With 19 points on 8-for-17 shooting, Pau Gasol was San Antonio's high scorer.

Lakers: Thomas has scored in double figures in six of nine games with the Lakers, including three with 20-plus.

Nikola Vucevic scored 15 points and collected 12 rebounds while Aaron Gordon chipped in 13 points to lead Orlando.

Aldridge injured his ankle on Wednesday and was listed as doubtful coming into the weekend.
