Microsoft consoles to receive 1440p support


The added power of the Xbox One X allows the company to render more pixels even when it comes to older games. "It's up to them, but the capability is there", tweeted Microsoft Corporate Vice President of Gaming Mike Ybarra in response to queries regarding this.

While the Xbox One X and Xbox One S have both been able to output in 4K, those with QHD monitors have had to contend with 1080p. The Indian government's decision to increase customs duty was announced during the Union Budget 2018. As reported by Windows Central, the Xbox One X targets 4K displays and, using supersampling tech, delivers some smooth visual upgrades on 1080p displays.

However, Xbox One and One S haven't had any support for 4K resolution games.

This news is like a bummer for the gaming enthusiasts as the gaming console was already selling at a higher price.

It also boasts a massive 1 TB (1,024 GB) storage and 6.8GHz 12 GB GDDR5 RAM with 326 GB/s bandwidth, making it 40 percent more powerful than any other console in the market.

Penello took to Twitter to answer a question from a fan regarding the Xbox One X Enhanced program for Xbox 360 games being backwards compatible with Microsoft's Xbox One system. Firstly, we learned that the Xbox One X will be the first console to support FreeSync variable refresh rate technology, in addition to also supporting native 1440p resolution. Xbox One X features a vapor chamber for liquid-cooling.

Other minor benefits include port reconfiguration and an IR transmitter through which the console can control other devices around, such as the TV.
