Alcatel launches Alcatel 5, 3 Series, and Android Go based Alcatel 1X

Meanwhile, the company has launched two Android 8.1 Oreo operating system based tablets with 7 and 10 inch IPS screens. As of now, there is no information about the availability of the new Alcatel smartphones in India. However, it's interesting to note that despite being higher priced at 180 euros (about RM 867) it doesn't sport the same shiny, premium look as its sibling, instead just having a patterned plastic cover. For selfies, there is a 13MP + 5MP dual fixed focus cameras that offer up to 120-degree FoV. It also supports slow motion recording and comes with new features like Light Trace and Video Story. Launched in gold and black colours, the Alcatel 5 offers dual SIM slot, Bluetooth 4.2, Global Positioning System with GLONASS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, microUSB 2.0 and an FM radio.

Talking about the Alcatel 3, it comes with glossy finish body with curved edges.

The Alcatel 3V will be available in Australia in Q3 2018 in Spectrum Black and Spectrum Blue for $199AUD.

The Alcatel 5 features an HD+ display, MediaTek MT6750, 2GB/3GB RAM, 15GB/32GB expandable internal storage, 12MP rear camera, the dual front camera comprising of 13MP and 5MP sensors powered by a 3000mAh battery.

The CPU has the same amount of cores and clockspeed, and 1GB of RAM... but you're only getting 8GB of onboard storage, which is pretty much useless in this day and age of larger apps. The device's battery measures in at 3,000mAh.

The Alcatel 3 series actually includes three different models. It will be retailing for Euro 180 and comes with polycarbonate body with metallic painting finish. The 3 has a 5.5-inch 1440 x 720 display; the 3X has a 5.7-inch 1440 x 720 display; and the 3V has a 6-inch 2K display. The Alcatel 3X runs on Nougat while the other two devices in the same segment get the Android Oreo operation. It also includes Google Assistant for Android Go.

Rounding out the Alcatel 5′s feature set is a 3,000mAh battery, fingerprint reader, and Android Nougat.

The Alcatel 5 will be available in Australia in Metallic Black and Metallic Gold in mid-late 2018. Connectivity options on this device remain same as on the Alcatel 3. It has a processor, but it's only a quad-core MediaTek 1.28GHz chip. However, one model runs Android Oreo. Up front, there are also dual-cameras. At the top is a huge bezel which is home to two cameras, a sensor, and a LED flash. It is the liter version of Android OS that is basically designed for smartphones with entry-level specifications. Ouch. At least the price is certainly cheap checking in at €100 for a single-SIM variant and €110 for a dual-SIM variant. The Alcatel 1T 10 has 16 GB of on-board storage while the 1T 7 offers 8 GB of memory. The interpolation works for the front camera as well, Neowin reports. It is backed by a 2460mAh battery that is rated to give up to 26 hours of talk time.
