NU got stuffed, allowing United Kingdom to take over and march to a TD with 37 seconds left. Kentucky's starting quarterback Johnson appeared to be tackled out-of-bounds by Northwestern lineman Joe Gaziano. Two players later, Benny Snell, Jr. ran it in for the score. Johnson led five game-winning drives during his short time at United Kingdom, and was a two-point conversion away from his sixth.

The Wildcats finished the season with a 7-6 record. The Northwestern drive stalled in red zone and Northwestern settled for a Charlie Kuhbander field goal.

Best player: RB Justin Jackson.

The start of the second quarter was a mixed bag for Northwestern.

A one-yard touchdown run by Cade Carney four minutes later gave the lead back to Wake at 48-45 with 9:06 left in the game; Nick Starkel's touchdown pass a little over three minutes later pushed the lead back in favor of A&M at 52-48.

Ten days after announcing he would return for his senior season, Thorson got carted off the field.

Kentucky would also lose a starter and a big one.

'Juice' Johnson got into the mix on UK's next possession. On 3rd down, Stephen Johnson was tackled out of bounds and no penalty was called. The penalty took United Kingdom out of field goal range. Johnson left the game, assisted by a Kentucky trainer, holding his right throwing arm.

Drew Barker would come on the field for the final:31 of the first half. Replay seemed to show that Northwestern actually picked up the first down, despite the call otherwise. He returned to the sideline on crutches in the second half.

When Kentucky stuffed Northwestern quarterback Matt Alviti on fourth-and-1, it gave United Kingdom and Johnson one last chance 39 yards from the end zone and 2:31 remaining. United Kingdom would take over on downs. On the drive, Sihiem King rushed for 12 yards. Ross' catch setup the Cats inside the 20 yard line and another catch by Richardson set up Kentucky with first-and-goal at the 3 yard line. The senior wide out caught a 25-yard pass from Johnson. UK's deficit grew once more to 10. Charlie Kuhbander missed wide right to keep the United Kingdom deficit at three, 17-14 after three quarters. 4th quarter slowed a bit. Jeremy Larkin busted through the Kentucky front seven and gained 28 yards on a first-down run. Prior to 2017, Wolford had thrown more interceptions (35) than touchdowns (30) in three years; this season, including today's game, he's thrown 29 touchdowns against just six picks. But instead of going for the tie and forcing OT, Kentucky went for the win on the two-point try ... and failed on a pass attempt. Kentucky was once again down one touchdown at 24-17 with 4:24 to play.

Northwestern clearly has a huge void to fill at running back. NU would go for it again with 2:36 to go in the game and United Kingdom would make the stop in Northwestern territory. Kentucky didn't even think about sending out MacGinnis for the extra point. If Richardson hauls in the pass from Johnson, we are having a completely different conversation but that wasn't the case.

United Kingdom went long on the kick and Northwestern recovered to win 24-23. United Kingdom falls to 7-6 to end the season.
