McGregor is widely considered a shining spot in the somewhat divisive Star Wars prequel trilogy that was released from 1999-2005, brilliantly playing the younger version of Sir Alex Guinness' Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Master, from the original Star Wars film trilogy.
McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
"It's just that. There's a lot of talk", said McGregor.
The first interviewer asked him about the current status of the oft-rumored Obi-Wan movie and his wishes to be involved in the project, should it come to life.
Despite all this, McGregor is still very much in the dark about any such potential Obi-Wan solo movie, according to the actor himself. Yet even more noteworthy than his win was his expertly trimmed beard - which, canny fans immediately recognized, looked identical to the one he sported in George Lucas's Star Wars prequels.
And now fitness trainer Tony Horton has provided another interesting nugget for us to all mull over - potentially alluding to something exciting involving Ewan McGregor, a.k.a. Jedi LAD Obi-Wan Kenobi. There's no...um...plan at the moment.
While that may disappoint some Star Wars die-hards, it also proves that McGregor - who's long maintained that he'd be game to revisit the galaxy far, far away - may still wield the Force once again.
"I saw the new one just over Christmas, and I thought it was really, really handsome", he said.
While Ewan offered up a traditional non-committal denial of an Obi-Wan movie, recent events have stirred up speculation that he could be gearing up for the role. Disney already has "Solo: A Star Wars Story" on the docket for May, and Episode IX hits theaters in 2019.
