The Oakland Raiders have officially hired Jon Gruden as their coach.

As Gruden himself pointed out to broadcast partner Sean McDonough before the start of Saturday's wild-card matchup between the Chiefs and Titans: "Nothing's official yet, but these Chiefs fans have been on my back since I got here". The Oakland Raiders have announced a press conference for Tuesday, where they will introduce him as head coach.

The team reportedly offered Gruden an ownership stake in the team if he accepted the coaching position, but who needs an ownership stake when you can have $100 million in cold, hard cash instead?

The Raiders fired Jack Del Rio following the end of a disappointing six-win season.

While you may or may not be familiar with his work, or who he is, here's five things you should know about the team's newest Head Coach.

The defensive line struggles with defense coordinator Ken Norton Jr., leading to a late-season firing and replacement with John Pagano.

His tenure ended shortly after the "Tuck Rule" loss to the New England Patriots when he was traded the following month to Tampa Bay for two first-round draft picks, two second-rounders and $8 million. His Buccaneers beat the Raiders 48-21 in Super Bowl XXXVII. He came back in 2004 and had a 30-34 record in four seasons, leading Washington to two playoff berths.

It's official, Jon, even if the Raiders haven't yet issued a statement.

"Coach. great legacy on 'Monday Night Football, ' not only have you lived up to it, you've enhanced it with your performance here", McDonough continued. For ESPN, Gruden was present for the 2010 Rose Bowl and 2010 BCS National Championship game for ESPN radio. He last coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2008.
