Cold weather to last through weekend

By Friday morning, wind chill readings of 0 to -10 degrees will be possible.

The actual temperature is only expected to reach 10 on Thursday, and Friday's high is forecast to be lower still at 8, with sunny skies both days.

27 Storm Track meteorologist Star Derry is forecasting a high of 13 on Saturday with light snow possible late at night. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 9 degrees. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44.

"Despite ample sunshine today across the region, high temperatures will struggle to make it out of the teens for most, with the cities seeing the best chance of cracking 20 degrees, but definitely not certain", weather service forecasters wrote Friday morning. Sunday night should be partly cloudy, with a low around 53.

Almost identical weather is expected on Friday, when highs should reach 28 degrees.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 12. North wind around 6 miles per hour becoming calm in the evening.

Look for slightly warmer weather on the weekend, with highs Saturday around 34 degrees and 43 degrees on Sunday, when there is a good chance for precipitation.

Central Indiana is where freezing rain and sleet could happen Sunday and Monday, with a high at 36. Both forecasts are close to record lows of 5 degrees and 3 degrees for January 6 and 7, respectively.

Thursday's storm brought winter weather to most of the East Coast. Northeast wind around 5 miles per hour.

Monday is expected to have a slight chance of rain but otherwise should be partly sunny, with a high near 68.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 20.

Tuesday could have some rain but should be mostly cloudy, with a high near 70.
