Back in the '80s, when Nintendo's moustachioed mascot's face was plastered everywhere you looked, Nintendo released a cereal call Nintendo Cereal System. Nintendo is prepared to make adults freak the heck out about breakfast cereal again, though, with Super Mario Cereal. Nintendo has announced their latest collaboration with Kellogg cereal to bring fans and breakfast lovers alike a brand new Mario twist on one of their favorite morning meals. Cerealously found references to a new cereal based on the critically acclaimed Super Mario Odyssey game. And in true Nintendo fashion, the box will function as an amiibo. "We hope you'll keep an eye out for the new Super Mario Cereal that is hitting store shelves now". The limited edition cereal will be of a mixed berry flavor and contain colorful power-up marshmallows.
Super Mario Cereal, which is the product of a partnership between Nintendo and Kelloggs, is standard sugary cereal with marshmallows in the shape of iconic Super Mario items like a 1-up mushroom and Cappy. In fact, the first non-Nintendo game on the list shows up as 14th in Horizon: Zero Dawn, though the gap between Horizon and Breath of the Wild is filled with the Switch console, more PlayStation Store cards, and a PS4 and Xbox One controller.
And if Twitter is any indication, people are excited, to say the least, further strengthening my Mario-fans-love-kids'-cereal theory.
