PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is Targeting 60 FPS on Xbox One

Chances are the decision to limit the framerate has been made to ensure parity across the Xbox One platforms - those playing at 60fps on Xbox One X would have an advantage over those playing on a standard Xbox One otherwise.

Console fans who have been waiting with baited breath for the release of PlayerUnknown's BattleGrounds on Xbox One X. They are also especially happy to read that the game will "definitely" run at 60FPS on the system according to creator Brian Greene in a recent interview with GamesTM magazine. PUBG is probably the biggest Xbox exclusive title of 2017, and it's sad to see that the PC version of the game will continue to provide the best gameplay experience for the time being. "We're constantly refining the game & exploring options to increase FPS, but this early in dev, we're unable to confirm more". While we all may be asking ourselves why anyone would even need two different PUBG games on Android, I am sure that Tencent has worked out a perfectly good reason for their two-tiered approach. So I think we could see incredible numbers on console, but again, I don't want to jinx it.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will launch into Xbox Game Preview on December 12th. The great thing about Battlegrounds is that it's not...unlike the more high paced shooters, the frame rate isn't that important.

PUBG is heading to Xbox One this month, and Microsoft have reportedly been in talks to extend the period of console exclusivity with developer Bluehole.

As for 4K textures, Green has said that it may be sometime before the studio is able to create some proper ones for both PC and Xbox One X. "The amount of detail that has to go into 4K textures is vast, and it's going to take us some time to get them, but we do have a plan".
