Missing Florida teen found with soccer coach in Syracuse

A Florida teen who went missing almost a week ago with a soccer coach has been found in NY, law enforcement officials said Friday.

Caitlyn Frisina, 17, was believed to be heading north with Rian Rodriguez, a 27-year-old soccer coach after they were spotted at a pawn shop in Syracuse on Sunday.

According to reports, investigators have since notified Frisina's parents that she had been found safe.

This is a developing story.

A photo provided to ABC News by the family on Saturday showed Frisina smiling while embracing her parents.

New York State Police said the Sable then pulled into a parking lot in front of a Subway where Rodriguez and Frasina were taken into custody without incident.

A 17-year-old Florida teen who had gone missing from her home almost a week ago has been found in NY, the law enforcement officials said on Friday (1 December). "More to follow as details come in", the Columbia County Sheriff's Office said in a tweet on Friday night. As of Friday, the teen was being held in police custody until a reunion with her family could be arranged. According to authorities in Florida, the teen left her home on her own and left her cell phone after wiping the device clean. "But I absolutely believe that she was lied to and totally misled", Scarlett Frisina told CBS.

Officials at Fort White High School have suspended Rodriguez.

"She's with a person who is 10 years her senior in a supervisory capacity over her as a coach", Hunter said.

Authorities said it appeared "a potential relationship" was blossoming between Frisina and Rodriguez before the teen's disappearance.
