Windows 10 on ARM is a reboot of Microsoft's earlier attempts to marry mobile processors with full laptop experiences. Additionally, these type of PCs can run either Windows 10 or Windows 10 S: the first models from Asus and HP will actually run the more secure Windows 10 S out of the box, but customers will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for free for a limited time.
The Snapdragon 845 is the spiritual successor to the Snapdragon 835 in more ways than one: the 835 used a 10nm manufacturing process, and the 845 is expected to use a more refined version of the same process. Unlike other Windows 10 PCs, you never have to wait for it to wake up.
The quest to add smartphone-like battery life to laptops may have just got a lot shorter with HP's unveiling of the new Envy x2, complete with a Snapdragon 835 processor. The Envy X2 is very similar to numerous Surface Pro types of computers that already exist, while the NovaGo feels just like any other budget to midrange laptop.
The device is just 6.9mm thin and 1.54 pounds, it has 8GB of LPDDR4X PoP RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The NovaGo can be similarly equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, but its fixed display is a 13.3-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel panel.

The real differences with these computers will be felt once we've gotten a chance to use these computers in an everyday scenario.
While processor-intensive applications are liable to suffer a significant performance hit from this emulation - Photoshop will work in the emulator, but it won't be very fast - applications that spend a substantial amount of time waiting around for the user - such as Word - should perform with adequate performance.
In a blog post about the new PCs, Microsoft Executive Vice President of the Windows and Devices Group Terry Myerson described the arrival of Always Connected PCs as an important technological progression, on par with the original laptop, virtual reality and cloud computing.
