His outspoken father LaVar Ball is reportedly yanking him out of UCLA as a student and an athlete amid the scandal of him stealing from four high-end stores in China a few weeks ago. The freshman never logged a single minute of action for the Bruins this season. The charges were eventually dropped, but not before the worldwide incident made headlines when President Donald Trump tweeted that he helped free the players, which the elder Ball disputed.
He even recently was on CNN, refusing to thank President Donald Trump for his involvement in releasing his son, LiAngelo Ball, from China.
"I'm not sitting back and waiting", LaVar Ball told ESPN. "So basically they're in jail here".
What do you think about LaVar pulling two of his sons out of their respective schools?
LaVar and Li Angelo Ball
A reason LiAngelo Ball was on the UCLA roster was due to his older brother, Lonzo, starring there past year, and because his five-star recruit younger brother, LaMelo, is slated to go there in 2019. His options might be limited since he doesn't have much competitive experience and is not a highly rated player. But even without a landing spot, Lavar feels he can prepare LiAngelo for the National Basketball Association better than a college team can. LiAngelo is eligible to enter the NBA Draft in 2018.
Ball told ESPN he hasn't decided where LiAngelo will play this season.
