Earlier, Filmfare had confirmed that the couple are now officially married and have tied the knot in a private ceremony in Italy. They were last seen at the wedding of Indian cricket Zaheer Khan with actress Sagarika Ghatge, where they danced to everyone's delight.

The wedding was an extremely private affair, attended by just the family members of the couple. Grapevines started buzzing with the news of their marriage after Virat Kohli pulled out of ODI series against Sri Lanka.

The celebrity couple and their families have flown out of India for the week-long celebrations.

The wedding was solemnized as per Hindu rituals at 2 pm. here, with the bride and groom looking resplendent in ensembles by celebrated couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Virat posted a picture from the ceremony held in Tuscany with a caption which read, "Today we have promised each other to be bound in love for ever".

PTI reported that the couple would organise a wedding reception in New Delhi on December 21, followed by another big bash in Mumbai for their friends in Bollywood and cricket on December 26.

The couple, who has been together for four years, is said to have chosen a luxury heritage resort Borgo Finocchieto, a little over 100 km from here, for their nuptials.

The statement further read, "The newly Wednesday couple will travel to South Africa where Virat will start prepping for the upcoming series and Anushka will spend New Year's Eve with him and return in the first week of January to begin the next schedule of Anand L Rai's film with Shah Rukh Khan in Mumbai".

Anushka will also start prepping for Sui Dhaaga as the shooting for the same starts in February 2018 with Varun Dhawan. The actress will also be busy with the marketing and promotions of her production "Pari", which releases on February 9. The well-wishers included the BCCI, Virat's teammates and former cricketers. The newly married couple are now ruling the Internet like a boss.
