Sony Xperia X Performance now receiving Android Oreo update

The upcoming launch is understood to be gradual in nature, as is usually the case with over-the-air updates for contemporary smartphones.

Android 8.0 adds several new features, including picture-in-picture and autofill. This will keep the extra time which you might be spending on logging into any website and filling your details. Also, the update has an enhanced Xperia Actions feature that suggests settings based on your usage and comes with all-new gaming and community features. Mr. Versi didn't specify which countries will be prioritized by the upcoming rollout and how long is the entire process expected to take, though Android 8.0 Oreo may not be available on all unlocked units of the device until early 2018. Google Play Protect will now help a user to clear his/her handset from malware and other forms of potentially damaging software. The company had first rolled out the Oreo update to the U11 in Taiwan a week and a half ago.

In replies to questions related to the tweet, he also mentioned that the update will soon be available to Sprint users as well as the HTC 10, HTC U Ultra, and HTC U11 Life. The update is 1.2GB in size and brings popular Oreo features like Picture-in-Picture mode (PiP), Adaptive Icons, and more. In case you are one of those impatient kinds, you can go to Settings About Phone Software updates to check for the update manually.

For updating your device must have sufficient battery backup to remain alive until the installation finishes.
