Pokemon GO dev Niantic's next mobile title will be Harry Potter themed

There are certain movies that deserve to be watched over and over again, and the entire Harry Potter series falls into this category beautifully. Niantic Labs, the makers of the Pokémon-themed augmented reality game, are now working on one inspired by Harry Potter, Entertainment Weekly reports.

GAMERS and Harry Potter fans alike will be delighted when Niantic's new AR game launches.

As Niantic have seen such success using AR for Pokemon Go, they've brought this technology to their upcoming game.

Much like Pokemon Go, the game will use augmented reality to turn the world around us into the world of Harry, Hermione, the bloke from Cracker and the rest of the gang. Interactive Entertainment and WB Games San Francisco's development team on the project.

Details on the game are pretty scarce, so it's not clear what the game will involve or what its mechanics will be.

HBO now has the streaming rights for the Harry Potter universe film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and has recently streamed Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but not at the same time. Players will explore neighborhoods and cities, learning and casting spells, finding magical artifacts, and encounter beasts and characters from the Harry Potter universe.

"If you look at the different major franchises out there, I don't think there are many that could do Pokemon Go justice as a follow-up".
