The Nokia 5 is priced at Rs. 12,499 for the 2GB variant and Rs. 13,499 for the 3GB variant. The new version comes packed with a 3GB RAM compared to the original variant that has a 2GB RAM. The smartphone packs the same specifications o the hardware side, except in case of the upgraded RAM amount. The Nokia 5 will be available exclusively on Flipkart for a week, starting 7 November. "We believe that this device which is a package that perfectly balances high performance, premium design and competitive pricing, will drive a huge audience across the country coupled with Flipkart's wide reach, reinforcing our online market leadership in smartphones". The display is coated with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. "Nokia 5 has already forged a reputation for being a beautifully crafted phone which punches well above its weight", said Ajey Mehta, Vice President India, HMD Global.
Other specifications of the Nokia 5 include a 5.2-inch HD display on the front, and it even has a fingerprint scanner placed below the display flanked by two hardware keys- back and recent apps. It will probably cost a little more than the RM799 price tag of the regular Nokia 5 here in Malaysia if it were to be made available here. The device is powered by the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 430 processor and comes with 16GB onboard storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, with the Android 8.0 Oreo upgrade guaranteed by HMD. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual led flash. The usual connectivity options like dual-SIM support and 4G VoLTE are also present in the smartphone. Everything on a phone is backed by 3000 mAh Li-ion battery with normal charging capability.
