I-T officials searched the residence of Sasikala's nephew Vivek Jayaraman, who controls Jaya TV and Jazz Cinemas that are owned by her family members. Their lawyer Kasinathbharathi has further told the media that they will not bow down to scare tactics and will face the issue in court.
Speaking to reporters after conducting gho-pooja at his Adyar residence, Dhinakaran said the raids were aimed at removing his aunt Sasikala and him from politics.
The searches at the Tamil television channel, which is perceived to be politically disposed in favour of deposed AIADMK leaders VK Sasikala and TTV Dhinakaran, were conducted as part of "Operation Clean Money".
