Gay Talese thinks Kevin Spacey's accusers should 'suck it up'

Unruh said an unknown woman noticed how shaken her son was, and encouraged him to run away.

A former TV news anchor said Wednesday that Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted her teenage son previous year at a Nantucket restaurant, adding to mounting allegations of misconduct against the "House of Cards" actor.

The scores of women who have accused Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, and actor Anthony Rapp levelling the first public accusations against Spacey had motivated them to speak publicly now, Unruh said.

In a tearful press conference, Heather Unruh said her "star-struck" son had been at a bar in Nantucket in July 2016 with the actor, who she claimed had bought him "drink after drink". Unruh's son reportedly told the actor he was over 21.

A former Boston news anchor says her teenage son was allegedly sexually assaulted by Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey last summer. Her intoxicated son, whom she did not name, panicked and froze. "Last week my son filed a police report and handed over evidence to the Nantucket Police and now a criminal investigation has begun", she said.

Heather Unruh first tweeted the accusation on October 13 saying that the actor 'assaulted a loved one'.

"I feel so sad, and I hate that actor that ruined this guy's career", Talese told Vanity Fair, presumably referring to Anthony Rapp, who claimed that a 26-year-old Spacey tried to seduce the then-14-year-old actor in 1986. Nantucket Police Lieutenant Angus C. MacVicar couldn't confirm whether a sexual assault report was made, citing confidentiality under MA law. "That was an appalling attempt to deflect attention away from what you really are: a sexual predator".

In a Vanity Fair piece, Talese expressed interest in profiling the disgraced American Beauty and House of Cards star.

Her son is represented by Mitchell Garabedian, an attorney best known for representing clergy sex abuse victims.

"The sexual assaults, the sexual harassment, the sexual perversion must be stopped", Garabedian said. "I don't know how much she saw", the former news anchor said. In the days since, numerous others have also come forward to make various allegations of sexual harassment and assault against Spacey.

"The #weinsteinscandal has emboldened me - #truth time".

After the story and further allegations broke, Netflix announced it planned to end House of Cards after its next season.

"I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago", he said in a Twitter statement.

A lawyer for Spacey didn't immediately return an email Wednesday.
