Garth Brooks Admits To Lip Syncing At CMAs After Fans Slam Him

The 55-year-old legendary musician, who is now touring, lip-synced his performance of "Ask Me How I Know" earlier in the evening, and after picking up his prize he told reporters backstage that he wasn't well and it was necessary. "Just seeing everybody on the carpet, it is just a family event and I feel like it is so important for us all to come together and be together at this time", she told News 2.

Garth was one of the most anticipated performers of the night at the CMA Awards, so it's not very hard to imagine the disappointment his fans felt when they realized he was lip-syncing his hit called Ask Me How I Know.

During an interview after the show, he explained that he was sick and in the middle of a 12-show-in-10-day run.

Another tweeted, "Garth Brooks is REALLY bad at lip syncing", while a third posted, "Worst lip syncing I've ever seen. Not what entertainers of the year do", one Twitter user wrote. "Not 10 shows in 12 days, 12 shows in 10 days".

"We made a game-time call on whether to sing to a track or lip-sync", Brooks said.

It was Brooks second win in a row and sixth entertainer of the year award over his long career, the magazine stated.

The singer continued, "The voice just isn't there anymore, and you want to represent country music as best you can".

"Getting this presented to me by the entertainer of a lifetime, I thank you", he said, nodding at McEntire. "Miranda [Lambert] said it best, Little Big Town said it best - we're a family". Let's all raise a toast.

"It's been 400 shows and we're all exhausted, but having the time of our lives", Brooks told E!
