Amazon brings Echo, Alexa, and Prime Music to Canada

BMO is announcing the launch of the BMO skill for Amazon Alexa in Canada.

Amazon Echo - the original voice-controlled speaker that provides Alexa access will be available in Sandstone, heather grey, and charcoal. If you've been hankering for an Amazon Echo, now is your time to buy, as Amazon has knocked 22 per cent off the price of the new Amazon Echo and 30 per cent off the Echo Dot.

"BMO has a long track record of introducing innovative product offerings to the market, and we are thrilled to be among the first to welcome Amazon Alexa to Canada and bring the BMO skill to our customers", said Cameron Fowler, President, North American Personal and Business Banking, BMO Financial Group.

Amazon launched Prime Music and Alexa in Canada today, along with three devices that support the voice assistant: the Echo, Echo Plus, and Echo Dot. The BMO skill can be enabled through Alexa by simply saying "Alexa, enable BMO skill", or through the Alexa app on iOS and Android.

Echo, Echo Plus, and Echo Dot are available for pre-order starting today at www.amazon.ca/echo and will begin shipping December 5.

Alexa delivers an all-new experience, including a new English voice with a Canadian accent, local knowledge, and local skills from Canadian developers.

The next generation Amazon Echo and the Echo Plus, which is equipped with a built-in smart home hub. The skills include skills from Air Canada, CBS, the Weather Network, TD Bank and Bank of Montreal.

The retail giant said today that Amazon's digital brain, as well as its Prime Music service are available now in Canada. Prime Music consists of over 1 million songs on demand and is now included with all existing and new Prime membership in Canada.
