Huawei introduced a new flagship smartphone

The phone comes with a number of features, some routine, some different, and some surprising. The phone runs on Android Nougat 7.0 operating system with a company owned EMUI 5.1 OS. Both on the top and bottom have relatively thicker bezels. Although it looks identical to the Honor 6C, it comes with some noticeable chances. There is an Honor branding beneath the display which means no capacitive buttons. However, the Huawei 6X belongs to the old school of smartphone design with its prominent bezels and standard 16:9 aspect ratio. At 164 grammes, it is not too heavy either. It comes with Fingerprint scanner on its back side. We got the gold model and while some might frown at the fact that the cameras jut out from the back and at the visible antenna bands, we still thought the Honor 9i looked smart and understated.

Hardware wise, the Honor 9i treads the middle ground. It will be first made available for European markets.Powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 clocked at 1.5 GHz with Mali-T860MP2 GPU, the device features 3 GB of RAM same as its predecessor.

Considering it falls on the lower spectrum of the power in the smartphone segment, it still offers novelty premium features such as 2.5D curved glass over the display. Besides, the smartphone offers 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi, GPS and a micro USB port. On the battery front, the tablet is fuelled by a powerful 6,660mAh battery with fast charging support. These are good specs, not benchmark busters.

In terms of photography, the Honor WaterPlay features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture, autofocus and LED flashlight. On the front, it has a 13-megapixel primary sensor and 2-megapixel secondary sensor to deliver Bokeh effect (DSLR-like shallow depth-of-field).
