Angelina Jolie Was Considered For an Operation to Arrest a Ugandan Warlord

The Netherlands-based court, established in 2002, indicted Kony in 2005 for war crimes in Northern Uganda but the fugitive managed to evade capture, fleeing to the jungles of Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo with his followers.

In 2012, Jolie publicly called for Kony's arrest, describing Kony as "an extraordinarily disgusting human being". In a 2010 interview with Nightline, she admitted that she would be tempted to "take down" Kony if she were ever face to face with him.

Jolie, 42, apparently replied to Mr Moreno Ocampo at one point saying: 'Brad is being supportive. "She is ready. Probably Brad [Pitt] will go also", he said in another email. "Let's discuss logistics. Much love Xxx". She loves to arrest Kony (sic).

Ocampo may have actually considered Jolie's idea, for he was found to have stated in a separate e-mail: "Forget other celebrities, she is the one".

As The Sunday Times reported, Moreno Ocampo claimed he had been "the focus of a cyber-attack." E! "I miss you." It went unanswered. "They are eager to get Kony, but after meeting you, they will do it", there was no further discussion of the plan, which appears to have never come to fruition. There are no other references to the plan in the 40,000 leaked emails, and Jolie has declined to comment.

In the wake of the leak, Ocampo claims that he is the victim of a "targeted cyber attack", as he's now being questioned over his alleged ties to Libyan businessman Hassan Tatanaki, who worked alongside former dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

'Someone is attempting to blackmail me using illegally obtained information, ' he told the newspaper. Neither Jolie nor Moreno Ocampo made statements about the leaked documents as of press time.

In 2009, the humanitarian had visited an ICC courtroom in the Hague to watch Moreno Ocampo successfully prosecute Congolese warlord Thomas Lubanga in 2009, which she described as 'a landmark trial for children'. He also repeatedly praised Jolie over her directorial debut, "In the Land of Blood and Honey", in addition to asking for her assistance on a charity education project.
