Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin

The fight between two of the best boxers on the planet will take place in the same ring as Mayweather beat McGregor in three weeks earlier at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. For Golovkin, the fight is the culmination of a long battle to establish himself as the top middleweight in the world.

Golovkin is taller and has a three inch reach advantage, which could be crucial if the fight is fought at mid range where he tends to like to do a lot of his best work in the past. The 28-year-old English boxer won the WBO belt from Ireland's Andy Lee in December 2015 but due to injuries and postponements has only fought once since, an unimpressive points win over Artur Akavov at a leisure center in Scotland in December.

"We know that in fights, it takes two to tango".

Alvarez is 49-1-1 with 34 knockouts to his name, his lone loss coming to Mayweather in 2013, when he was still relatively inexperienced.

Saunders' promoter Frank Warren is confident his boxer will face the victor of Golovkin-Alvarez should he beat Monroe Jr. However he wants to fight I am ready.

In his most recent fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Alvarez just about made the sport look easy, comfortably controlling the fight for all 12 rounds en-route to a resounding unanimous-decision victory. "I think we have an opportunity to bring back those glory days, to bring back the business of boxing". "They're going to hit each other and give fans the kind of fight they want and expect".

Golden Boy Promotions boss Oscar de la Hoya said the Canelo-GGG fight will be his gold medal as a promoter.

"When I was born, all of the fear had already been given out", he said through a translator, per The Guardian's Bryan Armen Graham.

Alvarez also expects a hard fight. "After I have my hand raised in victory, I will be one fight away from realizing my dream of winning a world championship".

"I'm so excited about this fight".

"That's one of the great unknowns of this fight: Can Canelo stand up to Golovkin's punches, and can Golovkin stand up to Canelo's punches?" Canelo won the WBC middleweight title from Miguel Cotto back in November 2015, and then-promoter Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions, were reluctant to make the fight with Triple G. "I am the boss, not Canelo".
