Ousmane Dembele: Dortmund reject Barcelona bid as forward misses training

Ousmane Dembele missed training with Borussia Dortmund on Thursday and has not accounted for his absence to head coach Peter Bosz, amid reports linking the France winger with Barcelona.

"Borussia Dortmund has held talks with FC Barcelona regarding the possible transfer of the BVB player Ousmane Dembélé to FC Barcelona", the statement read.

Capable of thriving whether deployed on either flank or as an attacking midfielder, Dembele is a very skillful player who would surely be very well suited to Barcelona's style of play. We don't know why.

Bosz said: "Dembele was not in training today".

Bild suggested that Dembele may have been trying to break the deadlock in the negotiations with his no-show.

Yesterday it emerged that Dortmund have quoted the La Liga side a fee of £135m for Dembele, a figure that would represent a staggering profit of £122m in just 12 months if realised.

It is also believed that Dortmund have slapped a €150m price tag on Dembele, but Barca are looking to chop off €30 million from it before agreeing on a deal.

Neymar's stunning departure to PSG has sent Barca scrambling for replacements before the transfer window closes.

It has also approached Liverpool about signing Philippe Coutinho though there too there has been no sign of a deal.

The youngster is a reported Barcelona target with the Catalan giants earmarking Dembele as the man to replace Neymar.

Because the Dream Team game - the UK's biggest fantasy football game - is back and better than ever this season.

Dortmund are reluctant to sell the versatile attacker just one year after he moved to Germany. That is set in stone.
