Rep. Maxine Waters (D-California), one of the most outspoken critics of President Donald Trump, said Friday that she is "so glad" about the leaks that are coming out of the Trump White House. That really struck me as somebody who was brilliant and smart and all of that, but had a real sensibility and a heart and an understanding that a lot of people don't have.
The View co-host Paula Faris noted that some Democrats were concerned that the leaks pose a national security risk and asked Waters if she was similarly troubled. "It's not something that's going to put me in the bed and say 'Oh my god!' Every day I wake up, I wake up energized". She called President Trump "the worst" president she's ever seen in a recent interview with "The Breakfast Club" saying he "believes in nothing".
JOY BEHAR: Do you think Pence will be better than Trump if he were impeached? Mnuchin made it clear from the beginning that he was going to provide meaningless drivel in place of real answers, and Rep. Waters made it clear that she knew exactly what he was doing and that she literally didn't have time for that. She shot down rumors that she may be running for president in 2020 and instead said her mind is focused on removing Trump from office before the end of his first term.
"I want you to know, if it was not for the love and respect shown to me by Black women, those right-wing ultra conservatives ... they would have me believe I'm too Black, I'm too confrontational, I'm too tough, and I'm too disrespectful of them", she said. Now actor and singer Mykal Kilgor's gospel rendition of the phrase (above), a fabulous solo acapella - which sounds just like a choir - has gone viral too.
"I hear you but it's a scary thing to try to undermine the president because you don't like his policy or don't trust him and risk undermining the entire country in the process", Bila shot back.
"I have my hopes for Mueller, as most people do", she said.
