All eyes were on First Lady Melania Trump as she left the White House to attend one of the big social events of the Washington D.C. season Saturday: the lavish wedding of Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin to Scottish-born actress Louis Linton.

Ross said both he and his wife "extend our congratulations and look forward to seeing you Wednesday your dear fiancee, Louise Linton, on Saturday".

Mrs. Trump was seen wearing a pink blush dress and the president was in a tux.

Other Trump administration guests included Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, according to the Daily Mail. (Cliff Owen/AP) President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump depart the White House for Steven Mnuchin's wedding.

The nuptials took place at the historic Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, DC.

Trumps, both Donald and Melania, attend the wedding ceremony of the Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin who tied the knot with an actress on Saturday.

About 300 guests reportedly attended the wedding.

The 36-year-old Linton has appeared in movies and TV shows, and recently turned to producing movies. It was Mnuchin's third wedding and Linton's second.

The pair has faced backlash for alleged conflicts of interest since their arrival in the nation's capital.

Mnuchin, 54, a Goldman Sachs executive for many years and later a Hollywood producer, served as the national finance chairman for the Trump campaign.

Mr Mnuchin also produced movies before joining the government.

The newlyweds will soon be moving into their stately Massachusetts Avenue Heights mansion, which they purchased for around $12 million.
