The 59-year-old artiste breathed her last at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (KDAH), in Andheri west, where she was rushed shortly after midnight. He admitted to having most fun while performing the Samdhi song with Reema Lagoo.
Our thoughts go out to Reema's family and friends. She was known to play mother to protagonists onscreen and playing supporting roles in films like Maine Pyar Kiya, Aashiqui, Hum Aapke Hain Koun!
"She was complaining of chest pain so we took her to hospital around 1 am". Her last screen appearance was in the Marathi film Katyar Kaljat Ghusali.
The actress was born on May 18 in 1958 and appeared in Marathi, Hindi films and television shows, serving the industry for almost four decades. Reema Lagoo, as Kaushalya Choudhary (Salman's mother) in the film, won the hearts of many when she finally let her son go in search of his true love. Her first commercial success was Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, where she played Juhi Chawla's mother. Till the time of her death she remained active on television, and in fact, shot for Mahesh Bhatt's show, Naamkarann, the evening before her sudden demise.
She was now working on TV serial Naamkaran on Star Plus.
Recalling the memories with spent with the "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" star, her co-star Zain Imam from "Naamkarann" took to Instagram and wrote, "A very humble human being".
She is also well known for her fabulous acting in Marathi cinema and Indian Television.
She is survived by daughter Mrunmayee, who is also an actress and a theatre director.
Born as Gurinder Bhadbhade on February 3, 1958, Lagoo will be remembered for giving a new definition to mother's role in Bollywood - one who is not just strict and loving, but a fun-to-be with person as well.
Her funeral was already held.
