The poster was released on Mother's Day, and certainly seems to back up rumors that Aronofsky would once again be delving back into psychological horror territory.
The movie centers on a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence. No further details have been released as yet.
The poster, featuring an illustration from artist James Jean, depicts Lawrence standing in a garden, with a hole in her chest, holding out her bloody heart.
Here's the first look poster for the film. It would make ideal sense for Pfeiffer to play Lawrence's mother, but, again, we're just guessing here. The film's IMDB page (which isn't necessarily always accurate) does however list character description for bit-part actors.
So does her new boyfriend Darren Aronofsky (who directed Pi and Black Swan).
Darren Aronofsky's no stranger to making weird, unsettling films that'll stay with you for a lifetime.
