Per usual, the looks of the night ranged from wildly creative to straight-up glamorous. Earning some major fashion cred for sticking to the theme, she sported a bright red, armless creation straight from Comme des Garcons collection last season.

The singer never fails us in the fashion department and didn't disappoint as she arrived as one of the few celebs to don a Comme de Garcons dress. The actress, who plays Queen Elizabeth on the poplar Netflix series The Crown, made her Costume Institue's gala debut on Monday evening.

The 32-year-old entertainer is one of the co-chairs of the event and she wore a Maison Margiela "Artisanal" look designed by John Galliano. The sleeves of Dane's flurry of ruffles in a white blouse extended well beyond her hands, paired with a simple pair of black trousers.

Zendaya also picked an elaborate orange gown featuring a parrot print, while Janelle Monae looked incredible in a ruffled black and white design and Priyanka Chopra wore a dramatic trench coat gown.

One Twitter user jokingly noted that by wearing a red ensemble at 2017 Met Gala, Katy Perry could be promoting Taylor Swift's critically-acclaimed 2012 album RED.
