What should the Bulls do now that Wade is out?

Conley has not recorded a triple-double this season, and tonight was no different.

An MRI on Thursday has revealed a fractured bone and ligament damage in Wade's elbow, ruling him out for the remainder of the regular season.

The Bulls have lost six of their past seven games and have fallen to 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings but still only a game behind the Detroit Pistons for the eighth and final playoff spot. "But it is what it is".

After the game, Wade said he got his arm caught in traffic going up for a rebound with Memphis forward Zach Randolph. He averaged 18.6 points per game, his worst total in 12 years, and shot a career low 43.4 per cent from the field, a career low by more than 2 per cent. He has teamed with All-Star Jimmy Butler to try to provide scoring and veteran leadership to a team seemingly in transition.

Guards such as Jerian Grant, Michael Carter-Williams and Cameron Payne will need to step up - including in off-the-ball roles they might not be accustomed to - in Wade's absence. They could ax coach Fred Hoiberg, who has just not been a fit with this group in nearly any incarnation, and does not seem to have the respect of Wade or Butler. He was coming home to save a Bulls team that missed the playoffs previous year for the first time in seven seasons.

This wasn't supposed to be the scenario, of course, although when Forman and Paxson signed Wade and Rajon Rondo and traded for Robin Lopez last summer, they created a boom-or-bust situation. "It's a challenge for (Butler)".

Do you really want to see this s***show in the post season?
The thinking from Chicago was that Wade, though clearly on the downside of his career, could meld with Butler's all-around approach in creating a wing duo for the ages. Brooks has talked about this team having a defensive identity, but they have gotten away from that over the last couple of weeks, somewhat in part because their offense has been so good.
