Rumors have been pointing to-depending on your interpretation-a curved surface for the iPhone 8 display.
The 10th anniversary iPhone is rumored to come with a radical new design and a bunch of new features.
iPhone 8 updates and new features have been leaked. In the meanwhile, a report also claims the iPhone 8 will affect the Samsung Galaxy S8's sales. However, the most recent speculation underlined that Apple will not be releasing the popular iPhone and instead will release iPhone Edition. Apple has yet to incorporate such technology into its smartphone and the next one should be the first to feature such capability.
A market research analyst with IHS Markit told MacRumors that Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) upcoming premium iPhone - which is widely expected to usher in an all-new industrial design with an OLED display - will not use a curved OLED display.
Apple has stuck with conventional IPS LCD panels over the years, and it has allowed rivals such as the Samsung Galaxy S-series to overtake the quality of the Cupertino-based tech giant's displays significantly.
"We anticipate Apple will adopt a flat implementation of OLED design on their special iPhone model, which is analogous to the current 2.5D glass design", Lam said.
Broncos' DeMarcus Ware announces retirement amid free agency period
He is the Cowboys all-time leader in sacks, with 117, and the franchise's all-time leader in forced fumbles, with 32. Ware, 34, has been a team captain in his time with the Broncos and universally respected in the locker room.
APPLE has already named its much anticipated tenth anniversary flagship iPhone 8.
Apple is rumored to be contemplating to release a 5.8-inch iPhone in 2017 to give tough competition to other OEMs.
Lam further added that similar to the recently unveiled LG G6, one can expect a longer touchscreen with a bigger screen ratio design. "We also found that with curved displays, aka edge screens, users felt more exhausted holding the phone and had more erroneous touches". It's quick, secure and easy to use, and when combined with the new haptic home button, it makes getting into your iPhone or making purchases extremely easy. It will however come with 2.5D curved glass - something that is not new in iPhones and has been used in the devices since 2014's iPhone 6 - according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Out of these, glass is a top contender since it will also facilitate wireless charging.
The good news is that worries about the suggested retail price of the iPhone 8 could be whittled down a bit. Macotakara has also said that the iPhone Edition will be announced in September, alongside the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus.
The reports go on revealing what the latest iPhone Edition will look like with images and videos highlighting its interesting specs and features.
