Michigan Hits 16 Threes to Advance in NCAA Tourney

Oklahoma State shot almost 55 percent overall itself, led by an electric point guard in Juwan Evans, who finished with 23 points (10-26 FG), 12 assists and seven rebounds. The next trip down the floor, Walton kept it himself and drained a three-pointer - one of five in the second half.

In a 1992 regional semifinal, Michigan, led by the Fab Five, knocked off No. 2 Oklahoma State 75-72.

I've always felt that, while the brackets and wall-to-wall games are lots of fun, the best thing about the tourney is getting to see teams from other conferences, and particularly those unfamiliar teams face teams from the conference we're most familiar with. Wagner did not play a significant role in the game, although he still finished with six points in 14 minutes. MI averaged 9.4 three pointers a game this season. If Bridges and Ward get into foul trouble, which they often do, MSU has no chance at all. Which team will escape with a win? They've won only one NCAA game since 2006 and will have to wait at least another year to improve on that. MI did win a close contest, but they had the game well sealed away before that and just had to make free throws.

Starting with those two games, MI won eight of its last 12 Big Ten regular-season games. I don't either. In tournament play, I tend to go with the team with better guard play.

MI has won six games in a row and just stormed through the Big Ten tournament as a No, 8 seed, the lowest ever to win the league event. "We go as he goes, so hopefully he's got more left in the tank". The Wolverines hit an astonishing 16 three pointers on 22 attempts, including six from Derrick Walton Jr, who dropped 26 points. I think the paint is something they really love to attack, whether it be by the dribble or on the inside with their presence with both their bigs. It was led by Jawun Evans' 23 points. I think overall, there were just questions too about the tournament. They're a very offensive rebounding team. It's never great to have a season end. "Today, we just weren't good enough, and give a lot of credit to MI". PSU and Ohio State put up an identical 34 shots against their opponents, though Ohio State had a bit more luck, with 5 separate players finding the back of the net.

The Michigan men's basketball team just finished one of the craziest seasons in program history. On Thursday, March 17 the Spartans had media availability and held a 90-minute practice at the Colonial Life Arena on the campus of SC, in preparation of Friday's First Round game vs.

I remember the song and dance when Marcus Smart announced he was staying another year.

"He gets his teammates involved", Evans said of Walton.

Minutes later, a transition triple from Duncan Robinson was followed by a timely defensive stop and a pair of long triples from Walton - and then a nifty floater - to suddenly give U-M its largest lead of the game, 76-68, with 7:33 to play.
